Can CBD oil be effective in gout?

Gout is inflammatory arthritis, which is due to higher levels of uric acid in the blood.
With passing time, the extra uric acid in the blood forms sharp crystals and get deposited in the
joints. The crystals cause inflammation in the joint, resulting in pain, tenderness, redness, and
swelling. Gout can affect any joint, but mostly, it affects the greater toe. The symptoms usually
stay for a week or ten days.

A combination of medication and lifestyle changes are needed to manage the high uric acid
levels. Medications include pain relievers and corticosteroids to alleviate discomfort and
inflammation. Additionally, treatments given are medication to block the uric acid production
and to improve the body’s ability to remove uric acid.

Many studies proved CBD to be an effective treatment of arthritis. Large numbers of studies
have proved CBD to be a potent anti-inflammatory agent. The human body has an
endocannabinoid system, and when CBD triggers the CB2 receptor, it helps in reducing the
inflammation in arthritic condition like gout. CBD is also found to raise the levels of
Anandamide which binds with the CB1 receptors to block the pain signals of the body, offering
relief from the gout attacks.

It’s necessary to do your own research about the type of CBD and the dosage of the same to get
the maximum benefit in gout.
